We may be nearing the end of the National Quilters Circle Quilt Block Challenge: Windmills and Pinwheels, but we aren’t slowing down! It’s time to make block six! Over the course of eight weeks we will be making the Windmills and Pinwheels pattern designed by Toby Lischko of Gateway Quilts and Stuff.
The Windmills and Pinwheels quilt is a fun blend of pieced points and curved applique. Made in a medallion style, you can either piece or applique a large center block and then build upon the center as you work your way through this eight- week challenge. For several of the blocks you will be given the choice of patterns- one a pieced block designed by Toby and one a slightly different pieced version designed by Ashley that incorporates applique. The applique design inspiration came from one of the main print fabrics, which features flowers. While we have provided applique templates for you to create the same designs, feel free to play around and create your own- we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

The finished quilt size for the large option is 86” x 86” and the small option is 58” x 58” Click the button below to download a PDF with instructions for your first block, or the center applique pattern to build around. I keep getting 6, unable to get 7
Have not received the directions for week 8 or the finishing instructions. Week 7 was the last I received.
Following but have not been getting in inbox.
Other people are able to access week 7 & 8 under announcements but I am not able to do so. Week 7 is Block 6 which I have long since completed. Why are some able to access Week 8 while others are not? Others are able to access Week 8 but I am not able to do so. I keep pulling up week 7 which is block 6. I need the instructions to complete the block that will go between blocks 5&6 around the perimeter of the center medallion. Please help!
I still have not received block seven yet
I don’t see where to use blocks 5 & 6 in the instructions
Hello, Block 6 was released last week, will block 7 be released today?
The Black bold print Week 7 does nothing, link-wise, but the blue Download button leads to Week 7, Block 6. The instructions, copied below, do nothing to let participants realize that "Download" is Week 7, because they still refer to a much earlier stage in the Challenge. When most of the incoming comments ask the same question, the responsibility rests on the writer of the instructions. Hopefully the next challenge finds a better way to communicate than mismatched week and block numbers.
