I have made a quilt without a pattern but I used a couple of old patterns I saw in a book and made my own layout and borders. The 'Farmer's Daughter' block was the first pattern but I made it entirely of triangles and squares instead of cutting out any shapes that are not those two. This way I could use my inch marks on my cutting mats and rulers instead of a plastic pattern shape that most people used to use. The quilt took me a while to make because I didn't start out to make it of more than one block. The borders were created because I had a fabric collection and I had so many fat quarters left that were from the fabric collection I wanted to use them up. I made a pieced border out of the rest of the fabric. I ended up alternating 'farmer's daughter' and 'stepping stones' blocks and setting them on point. Then I used a white narrow border and my pieced border and then another wider border out of a fabric in the collection. The binding was a contrasting fabric from the same collection. I can send a photo if you would like to see it.

I would like to get a copyright for my patterns. Wondering if someone could share how to do this. I know that my patterns are my own creations (one of a kind) and don't want to share without my permission.

Will the designers be compensated and if not, do you plan to offer the contributed patterns for free to your followers or are you going to sell them?.
