National Quilters Circle Editors
Duration:   1 mins

Description

Marking tools come in a wide range of styles. The market includes, air soluble, water soluble and heat soluble. Before beginning any project whether it is embroidery, applique, hand quilting or machine quilting always test your product on the actual fabric you are using BEFORE beginning any project. Remember to follow all manufacturer’s instructions, but that test will insure you have success and not disappointment. Mary Beth Temple covers a variety of marking tools for your consideration.

Hi, I'm Mary Beth Temple and I'm here to tell you if you are making a garment and you wanna transfer marks or you're working on a hand embroidery project and you have to draw your design before you embroider on it. It's always a great idea to take whichever style of marking tool you wish to use, whether that's water soluble air dissolving or heat sensitive and test it on a small square of fabric or a seam allowance or a hidden little spot. Because if it doesn't work on your particular fabric, for whatever reason, you always wanna find out before you start your project rather than after. So I'm gonna take my markers and I'm going to run a little test and I'm going to go away and live my life and I will check back later and make sure that my marks disappear when I want them to.
