How do you feel about cotton vs polyester or blend threads with cotton fabrics? My machine likes poly-blends, so I use them but the quilt police came by one day and gave me a warning about it!

How do you know if you have a low shank or high shank on my sewing machine?

      Hello Kathy,

Thank you for your patience while I reached out to the expert, here is the reply:

You can either consult your machine manual- as it should tell you. Or, you can measure. A high shank machine will measure approximately 1 1/4″ from the screw to the bottom of the foot, whereas a low shank will be approximately 3/4″ from the screw to the bottom of the foot.

I’m piecing a quilt of HST only. If I plan to wash it in the washing machine, would you suggest securing the seams?

      Hello Cathy,

Thank you for contacting us. I would secure the seams. And I usually wash on a delicate cycle.

If you have any other concerns, please contact us at 1-855-706-3538, or chat with us on our site.

      We greatly appreciate your business!
