I’ve had to discontinue my membership. Lately, you’ve had sponsors that are not quilt related. I don’t crochet, drink wine or need hearing aids, so no, I am not interested in QC going forward. Not to be over critical, but if you are going to teach classes, take a Toastmasters course…the Ummmmms and Ahs and tics, and extra words that you add to the presentation take away from the professionalism. It’s distracting. Find national teachers that are worth watching. Sorry to be so blunt, but Craftsy is my “go to” to learn.

      Hello,

Thanks for contacting the National Quilters Circle with your question. The pattern for the stained glass iris quilt is available for download and the pre-made fusible bias tape is available for purchase online through a wide range of vendors.

For those looking, I found the bias tape for the flowers on Amazon. Final price was $16.30 per roll (pricey in my opinion, but definitely a time saver).

For the background quilting…wouldn’t it be easier to quilt Before you put on the appliques?

Thanks for contacting the National Quilters Circle with your question. There are many ways to tackle the quilting of a project. Some quilters don’t want any stitching to be beneath their applique. Some feel that this interferes with the surface of the applique and they don’t want the batting to be compressed below the flowers, stems and leaves, as in this case. The nice part about quilting patterns is that you are also able to adapt a pattern or technique to fit your own technique preferences.
