I saved all the bandanas from each time my dog, Rex, got a groom. This blanket represents 16 years worth. This is my first quilt ever! The other side is dog patterned squares.

My third quilt ever made is for my 20 something nephew who has become a golf fanatic. Happy with the way it turned out, still lots to learn but he loved it which is the most important.

The Stained Glass Iris Quilt was a blast to make. Once I started I could not stop. First time for me doing appliqué and using the bias tape. It was challenging and a lot of fun.

This quilt includes a variety of techniques including hand and free motion machine quilting, hand, ribbon, free standing, and machine embroidery, soft sculpture, paper making, wool needle felting, beading, and trapunto on a hand painted linen background. It is just over one meter long and one m. wide. Several elements are mini quilts attached to the larger quilt. I used wire, copper findings, handmade paper, silk ribbon, roving, specialty threads, cotton, velour, burlap, organdy, lace, and linen fabrics and cotton batting. The rooftops are ceramic.

Mini quilt I made to practice small, appliqué and trapunto. It was an entry for my Quliters Guild challenge and had to include the pink and green patterned fabric. It had the theme trees.

I finished this quilt in2014 and entered it in the San Diego County Fair. To my surprise, it won best of show! I used Judy Niemeyer’s Misty Mountain Pond pattern. Quilting was done by Toni Garcia, and the paper piecing and applique was done by me.

This is the 4th McCALLs quilts I’ve completed. With permission of McCALLs I’ve hand drawn onto cloth with Farber Castel pens and brushes to achieve my quilts. I’ve combined both hobbies into my quilts. Hopefully you will like them

Made this queen size quilt for my daughter’s wedding, July 2021. I used a panel by Sweetwater Printworks for the center, the surrounding blocks are from the Moda Stiletto by Basic Grey line and the black border is Moda Grunge. I quilted it on my Crown Jewel III long arm.

My Mariners Morning Star is a combination of the Mariners Star block and the Morning Star block hence the name! Up until about 2 years ago I had never made a curved block. I am now hooked on sewing circles! This pattern is available for purchase from my FontanaOriginals ETSY Shop.

Mt Kenya Safari Quilt. I was in Africa in 2018 and took a picture of the floor in the Mt Kenya Safari Club. This quilt is a reproduction of that pattern and colors. Pieced, then couched with gray yarn to look like grout. A pattern is available on my FontanaOriginals Etsy shop.

Jan, just saw your quilt, “Night Time on Moon Rise Ranch”. It is STUNNING! I love the subtle variation of batik fabrics you used on the tree trunk and branches. All in the same color family, yet you achieved a 3D effect. Wow! I admire your talent and hope to someday to achieve your level of artistry.

For a wedding present. My first quilt. Zero experience. Not a llt of experience sewing. Attendees of the bridal shower wrote on the squares. Photos of the wedding added. It’s not very precise or “professional” but tgere’s love in every stitch. Hand quilted on large embroidery frame.

As a “pandemic” isolation project I made baby blankets. My challenge was to use only your leftover scraps. The only purchase was flannel backing for both of them. This is from a Mother’s Day gift book from my daughter-in-law who is also a quilter.

Machine sewn and quilted except for border that’s hand-quilted. Made as a wedding present but three years late. Realised when it was complete that 2 blocks had gone in 1/4 turn wrong!

      Hello Robin,

Unfortunately that is not a pattern that we offer- it was only used as an example in this article. And it had not been archived. Sorry.

I did find this one by Patricia Thompson on line: http://patriciathompson.weebly.com/store/p8/Sandhill_Crane_Art_Quilt_Pattern.html
