With my printer, I have to hit the “Print” key. But instead of choosing a printer, I have to choose “Save as PDF”. I save another copy as a PDF. THEN I go to THAT copy and Print it. That is how I have to download and print as a PDF.

Looking forward to trying this Christmas Cheer Quilt Block Challenge! I might be a different or mixed colourway as I would like to use only material from my stash.

Looking forward to making a Christmas quilt! I’ve only made quilts for my family and grandchildren so far. I may be a little late on the first few squares as I’m visiting with my grandchildren now and it’s hard to do anything when there are 5, 3 year olds! My daughter has Quintuplets 🤪

I just downloaded the pattern. Since I am new to the challenge, do you have to use the colors that are given or can you pick your own?

Well, I admit to be intimidated by the Challenge I started in September or October, hurt my back bending over a dining room table, never good at the Flying Geese, having to do and redo. I’d get discouraged and leave it for weeks, but now I am back to working on it again, week 3. My background is largely with Crazy Quilts/potholders, so it was quite a change. My blunders turned into Crazy Quilt potholders. But I am learning, and will work on and learn from the Christmas Cheer Challenge.

      Hello Kim,

If you love the look of a fluffy, puffy, puckery, cozy, cuddly quilt, then prewashing fabric before quilting is not for you. Fabric is going to shrink after that first wash, so if it’s now part of a quilt, it will slightly pull at that stitching – giving your quilt maximum crinkleage.

      Thank you.

I did sign up for the challenge but have not had an email with the week one pattern at all. I could download the requirements and have bought the fabric….is there a problem? Or is this only for USA members?

I signed up three different times. Never received an email. Finally some of the ladies directed me to look under “files”. Couldn’t find that either. I did find it under the NQC Facebook. 1st week looks difficult. Not sure I understand the directions. But will give it a try.

Excited to begin the challenge! I usually quilt small stuff – mug rugs, table runners, placemats. To expand my skills I joined the quilt block challenge. The snowflake appliqué definitely challenged me.
